MIx together the flour, baking powder, and salt and then add the cold shortening.

Cut the shortening into the flour until in pea-sized pieces.

Add the milk and mix together. The mixture will be quite loose.

Place the remaining one cup of flour on your work surface and then top with the dough.

Slowly knead and work the flour into the biscuit dough until you have a smooth dough. It should lose any stickiness.

Roll out the biscuit dough to about one inch thick and cut into circles.

Place the biscuits close together on a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until biscuits are done.
