Each of these easy ways to store cilantro has its pros and cons. You can choose your favorite and what works well for the space you have in your kitchen.

1

STORE IN A PLASTIC BAG

This is the easiest way. Simply store it straight from the store in a plastic bag. Store it loosely tied and in the produce drawer.. Wrap a damp paper towel around the stems. Check on it occasionally.

2

STORE IN JAR OF WATER

Start by trimming the ends of the stems. Fill a glass jar with about an inch of water and place the bunch of cilantro stems down into the glass. Cover the leaves loosely with a plastic bag and store them in the refrigerator.

3

STORE IN A CONTAINER

Cut the stalks off and discard them unless you plan to use. Pick through the leaves and remove any long stems that remain and any leaves that are not fresh-looking. Rinse the leaves with water and let dry. Lay out in a single layer on a paper towel and transfer to an air tight container into the refrigerator.
