Ingredients in Southern Peach Cobbler

Pulse the chilled shortening with the flour, sugar, and salt.

Until it's coarsely crumbled.

Add water to the food processor while it's running to form the dough.

Peel and slice fresh peaches.

Place the sliced peaches in a bowl with white and brown sugar and lemon juice. Let sit to dissolve and form a syrup.

Add vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted coconut oil, flour and salt.

Transfer the peaches to a baking dish.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8th inch thick. Slice into even pieces.

Place the strips of dough to form a lattice crust on top of the peaches.

Brush with coconut oil and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake in the oven.
