This easy homemade peach BBQ sauce has all the fun, fruity and savory flavors that make it perfect for your sandwiches, burgers and summer grilling recipes.
Place peaches, sugar, green onion, garlic and ginger along with ¼ cup water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat stirring occasionally. Cook until liquid begins to bubble and the peaches are soft, about 10 minutes.
Transfer to a blender and puree.
Add back to the pan and add five spice powder, paprika, cayenne, hoisin sauce, miso, soy sauce, rice vinegar and mirin. Cook on low until heated through.
Notes
Makes approximately 1 ½ cups of sauce. Serving size = 3 tablespoons.Storing: Just like most other sauces, you can store the leftovers once they cool to room temperature in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, if not longer. Freezing: It also works well to freeze if you want to store it for longer- for up to three months. I like to store it in about ½ cup – 1 cup servings so I can easily pull it out when I want to use it and heat on the stove for a quick thaw.Be sure to check the post above for more details about the recipe including tips, how to use it, and ingredient information.
