Looking for an easy way to cook potatoes for meals? Look no further than this air fryer potatoes and onions recipe! Potatoes cook up with a perfectly crispy exterior and fluffy inside for a side dish the whole family will love.
Combine the potatoes and onion in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with avocado oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to distribute the oil and seasonings evenly.
Preheat the air fryer at 170° C. When hot, add potato mixture and cook for 25 minutes. Opening the basket periodically to shake them around.
Notes
No preheat setting? That’s ok. Simply let your air fryer run empty for five minutes before adding the potatoes and onions to the air fryer basket.
Make sure the potatoes are cut into similar-sized pieces and the onions are cut into larger pieces so they don’t burn as easily.
Prefer less crispy onions? Cook the potatoes for 12 minutes on their own and then add in the onions and toss them to combine with the potatoes.
Don’t overstuff the air fryer so everything cooks evenly. I was able to cook a full recipe in my Instant Pot 5.7 liter air fryer but if you have a smaller air fryer or cook a double batch you will want to cook in multiple batches.
Air fryer cook times may vary so be sure to keep an eye on them the first time cooking this recipe to make sure the timing works for you.
