5cupsfresh strawberrieshulled and halved (or quartered if large)
¼cupgranulated sugaruse more or less based on berry sweetness
In another bowl, mix the flour, almond flour, both sugars, cinnamon, and melted butter. Mix together until all the mixture is mixed well. It should be crumbly and pebbly without any dry flour or sugar in the bowl.
¾ cup all-purpose flour, ¾ cup almond flour, ¼ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ cup butter
Scatter the crumble topping evenly over the strawberry filling. Sprinkle sliced or chopped almonds over the top.
2 - 3 tablespoons chopped almonds for extra crunch on top
Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbling. Let cool at least 15-20 minutes before serving.
Notes
To make vegan, use vegan butter or coconut oil in place of the butter for the crumble topping.
For the best flavor, coat the strawberries thoroughly in the sugar and cornstarch, which helps create that delicious saucy filling.
Use melted butter when making the crumble topping to get that perfect crumbly, golden texture.
Let the crumble cool for at least 10–15 minutes after baking. This helps the strawberry sauce thicken up and keeps the crumble topping crisp.
