This fresh tomato pizza sauce comes together in 15 minutes with just 5 fresh ingredients. Blend it up and use it right away, or make it ahead for an easy weeknight pizza night.
Cut an X in the bottom of each tomato. Place into a heat safe bowl and pour hot water over the top. Let the tomatoes soak for five minutes and then remove the peel.
Cut the peeled tomatoes in half and remove the seeds with a spoon. Cut into chunks and add to food processor. Pulse a few times to chop the tomatoes.
Add the chopped fresh basil, garlic and sea salt and pulse quickly 1-2 times to combine. For a chunky sauce all you need are a few additional pulses to chop and mix everything together. For a smoother sauce, run the processor for longer bursts to chop the tomatoes more.

Notes
Use Roma or plum tomatoes. They have less water and fewer seeds.
Peel and seed before blending to cut down on extra liquid.
Blend smooth, or leave it a little chunky if that's your style.
Troubleshooting for Pizza
Sauce too watery? Strain it for a few minutes before using, or give it a quick 5-minute simmer to thicken it up.
Crust coming out soggy? Parbake your dough for a few minutes before adding sauce and toppings.
Want it thicker overall? Stick with Roma tomatoes and use the simmer trick above.
